Threading Salon Retail Interior Design Repeat Client Budget-Conscious Transformation
Kamana Beauty’s Sherman Oaks location is a bold evolution of their brand, brought to life by a/k/a creatives. As a threading salon, their core service inspired the design’s most striking feature: a vibrant, three-dimensional rope installation. This element isn’t just decorative—it’s conceptual. Born from the very act of threading, the ropes abstractly express the salon’s identity, creating subliminal connections that linger in the minds of customers.
This is the fourth collaboration between Kamana Beauty and a/k/a creatives, dating back to their first store in Culver City Mall in 2017. For Sherman Oaks, the challenge was clear: transform an existing clothing store into a fully functional threading salon—on a tight budget and timeline, and without triggering building permit requirements. We assessed site conditions, negotiated the scope with the landlord, developed the design, produced construction documentation, and oversaw construction administration with precision and care.

Rope Art Installation at Waiting Area
The result is a space that’s not only beautiful but strategic. The rope installation doubles as a marketing tool—highly Instagrammable /TikTok worthy and designed to invite selfies, social shares, and organic buzz. It’s an art piece that elevates the store’s look and feel while driving visibility and customer engagement.
Kamana Beauty Sherman Oaks is a perfect example of a/k/a creatives’ philosophy: design that is functional, looks stunning, and tells a story—visually, emotionally, and commercially.
